We are pleased to announce the next call for our workshop, entitled "content/form". Relating to transmediale's 2024 festival theme, the annual Research Workshop in collaboration between Aarhus University, London South Bank University, and transmediale festival (Berlin) is now hosting an open call for workshop participants for its next edition content/form – in particular, individuals who are interested in exploring our relation to content and the forms through which it is made public.

We are excited to announce Olia Lialina as the first Digital Aesthetics Distinguished Speaker.  Lialina is a renowned international pioneer of net.art whose work has had a major impact on the creative and critical discussions of digital culture since the 1990s. Lialina will talk in Aarhus about "Beautiful Zeros and Ugly Ones" reflecting on questions of automation and new media design & art. After Lialina’s talk we will celebrate at the Kunsthal Aarhus with the traditional Fredagsbar.

They will both do different activities related to their research, collaborate with DARC members, do public Friday lectures and talks, etc. Look out for announcements! We are extremely happy to host them.

Winnie Soon has been awarded the prestigious Golden Nica by Ars Electronica. The Prix Ars Electronica is the world’s longest-running media art competition and a prominent appearance at the renowned Ars Electronica Festival in Linz. Winnie Soon is awarded for the work Unerasable Characters Series in the AI & Life Art category.

Professor Jussi Parikka’s new book Operational Images: From the Visual to the Invisual has just been published. Growing out of a research project on the transformation of photography in digital culture, the book engages with filmmaker, artist Harun Farocki’s famous term “operational images”.

ServPub is an experimental platform for research and practice on experimental and computational publishing, to reflect collectively on affective infrastructures, minor tech and autonomous networks within, and beyond, institutional constraints. We begin the next stage of this process with a hybrid workshop, online and at Creative Computing Institute (University of the Arts London), on 26th June, 12.00-17.00.
