DARC director Jussi Parikka is the keynote speaker at a symposium at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in early April 2025. The event focuses on the notion of "operational image" and engages with various aspect's of Parikka's work with four architecture and art history scholars responding through their own research.  His book Operational Images came out in 2023 (University of Minnesota Press).

Parikka will also give a talk at Columbia University in New York based on the research conducted for the AUFF funded project Design and Aesthetics for Environmental Data (2022-205).
