DARC affiliated composer, sound artist, and associate professor in Sound Studies Marie Koldkjær Højlund (aka Kh Marie) has been awarded the prestigious Carl Nielsen og Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen honorary fellowship for her artistic work.

Toward a Minor Tech is a research workshop and publication that thinks through the ‘bigness’ of data and technology, and the potentials of a small and minor (or minority) tech that operates at human scale. 'Toward a Minor Tech' took off in January with a three-day workshop in London and concluded at transmediale festival in Berlin on February 2, launching a shared publication.

At this workshop, we welcome proposals that in different ways question the universal ideals of technology and its problems of scale; including big data, machine learning, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, blockchain mining, and how they relate to the global organisation of labour, extractions of natural resources, exploitation, energy consumption, and more.
