Planetary Pledge Pyramid

This project develops platforms and media formats that are tested in different contexts for cultural and business sustainability. Planetary Pledge Pyramid is an experiment with a global context, the UN summit on climate changes, December 2009.

Planetary Pledge Pyramid is a platform for people’s own ideas to save the planet – ideas that they are willing to realize and back up with hard cash. On the 18th of December at the Klimaforum09 (Peoples’ Climate Summit), during COP15, it all culminates in the biggest and most important game show of all time.

Via Facebook and live streamed talk shows, Planetary Pledge Pyramid engages citizens of the world to actively join the climate discussion. All participants are encouraged to recruit new participants and to pledge 10$ to the winning idea. In a final, spectacular game show, “Who Wants to Be? A Special End of the World Edition”, everyone will decide how to spend the money saving the planet.

Planetary Pledge Pyramid gives people a new way of making global decisions and financing them with real money. The project takes web 2.0 to a new level, because not only is it possible to support a good cause and spread the word through your network. Now, you can also help formulate the idea and realize it.

Planetary Pyramid Pledge is the result of a cooperation between the British artist group The People Speak and Digital Urban Living & Digital Aesthetics Research Center (Aarhus University).
