DARC director, professor Jussi Parikka has been invited to give a keynote at the prestigious Society for Literature, Science, and the Arts (SLSA) annual conference 2024 that takes place 7^th to 10^th of November in Dallas, Texas.

Parikka's talk is about environmental aesthetics and ecomedia through two case studies: vegetal surfaces (referring to his recent co-authored book, Living Surfaces) and thermopolitics of coldness through a new video essay, also co-authored with Abelardo Gil-Fournier. The sound design is done by María Andueza Olmedo. Both of the case studies relate to his long-standing research work on architectures of environmental data and spatial politics of how we understand the multiple scales of "climate" as a material formation, including through instruments of knowledge.
