New Translations of DARC research

New translations of DARC member professor Jussi Parikka’s work have just been published in China and South-Korea.

Parikka’s earlier work on media archaeology (What is Media Archaeology?) was published in both Chinese and Korean, and in addition, his 2015 book A Geology of Media, is also out now in Korean. Further translations are also in process.

The Korean translations are accompanied by a book-length introduction to Parikka’s work by Hyowon Shim. The book addresses key themes of Parikka’s work, including  media materiality, his work on computer viruses, as well as earlier books such as Insect Media that featured AI as animal intelligence. Hyowon Shim’s book is part of a series on key contemporary thinkers.

Next year, the Architecture Exchange is publishing a book with Bloomsbury on Parikka’s work in relation to contemporary architecture scholarship and theory,  called How Machines See Architecture? Engaging Jussi Parikka (Architecture Exchange: Engagements with Contemporary Theory and Philosophy). By Hans Tursack (Editor), Joseph Bedford (Series Editor), Matthew Allen (Series Editor). Bloomsbury Academic: London.
