Infrastructures and Image Politics theme day

DARC is co-hosting two events on April 16th with guests from the UK. As part of our on-going collaboration and development of collaborative research, colleagues from Winchester School of Art (University of Southampton) and London South Bank University’s Centre for the Study of the Networked Image join us for a workshop and a public seminar of talks on image politics.

The University as an Infrastructure workshop tests methodologies of diagramming to critically map the dependencies of different university system’s on large technology corporations and the military-industrial complex. This even is organized together with SHAPE at the Aarhus Institute for Advanced Studies:

In the seminar Critical Infrastructures and Image Politics the guest speakers Sasha Anikina, Stephen Cornford, Kwame Phillips, and Geoff Cox address similar links between digital aesthetics, critical methods (including practice-based methods), and infrafrastructure. In addition to DARC, the Centre for Aesthetics of AI Images is the local host for this seminar that is open to all:
