The third DARC distinguished lecture is given on November 7, 2025 by the renowned net.artist and cyberfeminist practitioner Cornelia Sollfrank. Her artistic work has critically investigated the gender structures of the (media) art world since her early pieces such as the generative art project the Female Extension (1997) as well as her key role as organizer of feminist communities such as the Old Boys Network (1997-2001).

Sollfrank is opening in September a significant exhibition of her work in Berlin, titled "Nothing comes without its world!” The exhibition follows from Sollfrank being awarded the prestigious HAP Grieshaber Prize of VG Bild-Kunst 2025, and engages with not only her work but the broad supportive networks in feminism, art, critical software, and hacking. Her just published co-authored book Contemporaneity in Embodied Data Practices gives also an excellent insight to her thinking and interests. The book is part of the Contemporary Condition series edited by DARC affiliated scholars at Aarhus University.

Sollfrank’s talk in Aarhus is called “100 years of net.art and Cyberfeminism”. We will update the talk info soon with a full abstract too. The talk is at Aarhus Institute for Advanced Studies who is co-sponsoring the talk alongside the School of Communication and Culture, as well as the departmen of Digital Design and Information Studies.  All warmly welcome!

Venue: Aarhus Institute of Advance Studies (AIAS), Høegh-Guldbergs Gade 6B (map), very close to the city centre. Building 1630.

Time: November 7, 2025, 14.15-16.00

The talk is followed up by a receiption.
